U.S. MILITARY SAYS PREFERRED DIVERT AIRFIELD IS NOW TINIAN
Lt. General Anthony Crutchfield says the switch from a hybrid preferred option of both Saipan and Tinian to a Tinian-only option for a divert was a process. He explains the decision came after a document--the December 11 letter from the Administration.
LAWMAKERS SAY DIVERT PUSH TO TINIAN MAKES SENSE
Representative Ed Propst says he is elated. Representative Angel Demapan tells us economically, Tinian is the best choice. Representative Vinnie Sablan says the preferred option makes sense, but he would not be surprised if in the future, the U.S. Military came back asking for a divert on Saipan as well.
