AN AIRCRAFT RESCUE FIREFIGHTER DROWNS WHILE SPEARFISHING AT EAST BAY IN LAOLAO.
21–YEAR OLD RAY VILLAGOMEZ WAS A C–P–A AIRCRAFT RESCUE FIREFIGHTER...EMERGENCY RESPONDERS SAY THE SEARCH AND RESCUE UNIT SEARCHED ALONG THE CLIFF LINES OF LAOLAO BAY...WHERE THEY FOUND VILLAGOMEZ LAYING ON THE SAND IN A REMOTE AREA....OFFICIALS SAY VILLAGOMEZ HAD OBVIOUS SIGNS OF DROWNING....HE WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL AND PRONOUNCED DEAD AT 4:42PM.
A CLOSE VOTE OF 11 OT 9 AT THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES THURSDAY APPROVING A HOUSE BILL ADDING A SPECIAL CLASS 8 LIQUOR LICENSE ALLOWING CASINOS AND ELECTRONIC GAMING FACILITIES TO SERVE ALCOHOL FOR 24 HOURS A DAY.
HOUSE BILL 19–87 RECOGNIZES THE PREVIOUS CASINO GAMING LAW DID NOT ADDRESS THE SALE AND CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES. THE LEGISLATION NOTES IT'S RATIONAL TO SERVE ALCOHOL DURING OPERATION, 24 HOURS.
