CONGRESSMAN GREG KILILI SABLAN REQUESTS EMERGENCY REGULATIONS BE PUT IN PLACE THROUGH THE OFFICE OF MANAGEMENT AND BUDGET IN A LETTER TO THE U–S CITIZENSHIP AND IMMIGRATION SERVICE SATURDAY THIS PAST WEEKEND.

CONGRESSMAN SABLAN TELLS US THE PROPOSED REGULATIONS WERE DEVELOPED IN MAY 2014 AS LISTED IN THE FEDERAL REGISTER ONLINE.  THE PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD ENDED IN JULY OF 2014.  IN THE LETTER, SABLAN SAYS HE ASKS IN EXCHANGE FOR THE DELAY TO THE C–N–M–I CAN THEY CAN FINALIZE THE EMERGENCY REGULATIONS SINCE IT HAS BEEN OVER A YEAR AND A HALF SINCE THE CONCLUSION OF THE COMMENT PERIOD.

THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE PRESIDENT ALEX SABLAN SAYS HE IS NOT AWARE OF THE EXACT NUMBER OF BUSINESSES IMPACTED BY THE RENEWAL DELAYS BUT HE DOES KNOW THERE ARE MORE THAN 2 2 THOUSAND C–WS AFFECTED, WHICH HE SAYS IS OVER 20 PERCENT OF C–WS IN THE COMMONWEALTH.

AT 7:15AM ON SUNDAY....THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES RESPONDED TO A STRUCTURE FIRE ON BEACH ROAD QUARTER MASTER AT THE LAW OFFICE OF PARK BUILDING.
