CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION ASKS DPS FOR INFORMANT IDENTITIES

Amidst the firing of 2 DPS officers back in 2014, in a January 13 order this year, CNMI Civil Service Commission hearing officer Andrew Orsini requests an in-camera review of the disputed documents, saying he not the office "have any stake in the outcome" and "they are unlikely to abuse the information".  DPS refuses to comply with the request for confidential record, saying they cannot safely do so.

 

GOVERNMENT SAYS LA FIESTA MALL COSTS IT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS A YEAR

The CNMI government continues to pay $200,000 each year to Bridge Capital.  Governor Ralph Torres says ultimately, they would like to have any company come in and take over the lease, but until they, Bridge Capital owns the lease.

 

WOMAN CHARGED IN CHILD PROSTITUTION CASE PLEADS GUILTY IN FEDERAL COURT

Alexandra Macabalo, 29-years-old, was charged with one count of enticemetn of a minor in 2015 after court documents say she paid a 15-year-old girl to have sex with a former CNMI government official.  The sentencing hearing is scheduled for June 24, 2016 at 9 a.m.
